As the cold wind blows gently in winter, Winter Solstice, the year’s most characteristic solar term, gets underway. As a significant time node in traditional Chinese culture, the Winter Solstice features the shortest day and the longest night in the year. On this meaningful occasion, the team members of the Guangdong Junzhiquan Law Firm (Junzhiquan) gathered together to celebrate this ancient festival. We boiled dumplings and tangyuan, a kind of stuffed small dumpling ball made of glutinous rice flour, on that day. Through delicious food, we expressed our blessings and emotions, warming our hearts with each bite. Dumplings, symbolizing wealth and reunion, are essential to the festival in northern China Tangyuan, also known as yuanxiao, is mostly a festival food during the Winter Solstice in southern China. It is known as a symbol of completeness and family happiness. On this warm winter afternoon, our tea room was turned into a happy kitchen. Our colleagues became cooking masters, cheerfully cooking dumplings and tangyuan. All members at Junzhiquan joined the activity, carefully putting dumplings and tangyuan into boiling water. The figures gathered around, along with happy laughter, created a heartwarming picture, permeating the air with a strong festival atmosphere and team harmony. The round and plump dumplings and tangyuan floating in the steaming pot seemed to carry our longing for the future and convey our blessings to each other. Sharing this handmade delicacy warmed our bodies while nourishing our hearts. We are eager to share the sweetness and warmth with all employees of Junzhiquan. Moreover, we wish to extend the festive cheer to everyone who cares about us. No matter where you are, we wish you a sense of warmth and happiness on this Winter Solstice. All members of Junzhiquan wish you a happy Winter Solstice filled with reunion and happiness on this meaningful day!
